New York Giants Record Prediction

If you think the first thing you should look at to determine a teams success is their QB, it’s not as simple as that. The offensive line is vital for both the rushing and passing attack. The Giants thought they could solve this problem through free agency, but they couldn’t be more wrong. This offensive line has been horrendous, suitable candidates as the worst in the NFL. They addressed this issue by drafting a tackle with their 4th overall pick, but a rookie can’t fill the gaping holes on this team.

This team was getting roasted when they drafted Daniel Jones with the 6th overall pick last season, but it turns out to be a great pick. Daniel Jones could potentially be this teams franchise Quarterback. He showed flashes of greatness with games playing like a top 10 Quarterback. The inconsistency is his problem.

You cannot win games when you turnover the ball as much as Daniel Jones. Last season he had 12 interceptions and a league leading 18 fumbles. Again, a lot of that blame goes on the offensive line, but he needs to solve this turnover problem to compete with the best.

He has the weapons to succeed. In my mind Saquon Barkley is the most talented running back in the NFL and will play as such at full health. The receiving weapons are also extremely underrated with Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Evan Engram at Tight End.

Defense wins championships and also loses games. The Giants defense is what has my expectations so low for this team. They allowed the 3rd most points and 8th most yards last season. How can you expect a rookie Quarterback to win games with that supporting cast.

They didn’t really get better next season. I expect them to continue as a bottom 10 defense next season and you cannot make the playoffs like that. I am optimistic about this offenses success, and they will have some sneaky victories because of that, but unless this defense and offensive line makes a miraculous jump forward in production, there is no chance this Giants team makes the playoffs.
