Arizona Cardinals Record Prediction
Whether you love or hate the Cardinals, you have to respect the blockbuster moves they have made to transform this team. From shipping their first round pick Josh Rosen for the full commit to Kyler Murray to the massive deal for DeAndre Hopkins. This team is tired of losing and you can tell.
There were a lot of ups and downs for this team last season, but I wasn’t expecting anything different. Kliff Kingsbury brought his flashy air raid offense, and did not have the pieces to stay consistent. Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are two very solid receivers, but DeAndre Hopkins is an alpha. This offense just got a lot more scary.
I expect Kyler Murray to take a massive leap forward in terms of production. He was running for his life last season and still managed to have a very impressive rookie campaign. While this offensive line didn’t get a whole lot better, so it will be interesting to see what Kingsbury does to buy him more time.
Their defense was a glaring issue last season as well, but i’m a big believer in Isaiah Simmons. Chase Young leads the pack for rookie of the year candidates, but don’t be shocked if Simmons take it. He is the most versatile player in the draft who can play all around the field.
He won’t completely solve the issues on defense, but it sure will help. They still have players like Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson leading this team. This defense just needs to be above average to create an opportunity for playoffs.
With any young team, there is a wide range of outcomes for success. I would not be shocked at all if this team squeaks into the playoffs, but the NFC is going to be very competitive. I do not have them as a playoff team. In my opinion they are at least a season away.
