New Orleans Saints Record Prediction

The NFC South is going to be a battle next season, but how can you bet against the Saints? From top to bottom this team is stacked and Sean Payton is the most gifted offensive mind in the NFL.

You can’t bet against Sean Payton and Drew Brees. They are proven winners who continue to lead the most efficient offense in the NFL. The turnover battle usually tells the tale and last season the Saints had the least amount of giveaways by  a margin of 5.

If Drew Brees gets injured, i’ll take Sean Payton and whoever the hell they stick at QB. Whether it’s Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill, Sean Payton proved last season that without Brees this is still the same high octane offense

Their biggest off-season acquisitions were Emmanuel Sanders and Cesar Ruiz who should both be immediate impact makers. Michael Thomas only runs slant routes right? Well, that should be easy to stop. Too bad it’s not.

The Saints last season were on the cusp of being a top 10 defense in the NFL. Their secondary was inconsistent which led them to being on the outside looking in, but their run defense keeps them in the conversation.

If Marshon Lattimore can return as a one of the top 5 cornerbacks, this defense will become elite. He has the not so luxury of being in the strongest Wide Receiver division in the NFL. As long as this pass rush led by Cameron Johnson continues to hit home, they will generate many turnover opportunities for the secondary as teams play from behind.

Making fun of Saints fans for always blaming their failures on the refs is a favorite pass time of mine, but i’m here to confess. They’re right. The refs have completely screwed the Saints these past two seasons, and that bitter taste will only fuel the fire for this team.

Once again, you can’t bet against Sean Payton and Drew Brees which is why I have them as the winners of the NFC South and the most likely candidates to represent this conference in the Super Bowl.
