Belichick got his guy without even having to trade up. There was a lot of speculation they were eyeing a trade up into the top 5 to get Mac Jones, but Bill Belichick strikes again.

While I don’t believe Mac Jones makes an immediate impact starting over Cam Newton, he was one of the most polarizing players leading up to the draft. Grabbing him at 15 had tremendous value, especially if the Patriots are convinced he is the franchise player.

On day 2, New England was able to grab the top rated defensive tackle in the entire draft in Christian Barmore, along with Oklahoma pass-rush phenom Ronnie Perkins.

Overall, New England’s draft continues the impressive and uncharacteristic offseason for the team as they look to build a playoff team. Belichick always seems to have outside the box picks, but not this year.
