Top 10 Fastest Players in NFL History – #7 Randy Moss

#7 – Randy Moss

Randy Moss’ nickname tells the story. It only took 1 practice for his teammate Cris Carter to call it how he sees it. Randy Moss was the “Super Freak”. The Vikings knew exactly the type of player they were getting with the 21st overall pick. Moss had character concerns coming out of college, but had unparalleled athletic ability.

His first season was one of the best rookie seasons ever. Randy Moss was electric and immediately combined with Cris Carter to create the best Wide Receiver duo in the NFL and arguably in NFL history.

Randy Moss is the current record holder for most receiving touchdowns in a season (23), most receiving touchdowns in a season for a rookie (17), and a laundry list of other impressive accolades.

If you didn’t double cover him, you would pay. Even when you did double cover him, you were probably still going to get Mossed. He is without a doubt the greatest deep threat in NFL history and if he had a consistent carousal of Quarterbacks like Jerry Rice I think he could have surpassed him as the best Wide Receiver in NFL history.

Top 10 Fastest Players in NFL History- #6 Tyreek Hill

Top 10 Fastest NFL Players Ever – #6 Tyreek Hill

#6 – Tyreek Hill

Don’t kid yourself. Tyreek Hill is the fastest player in the NFL today! I rank the fastest NFL players every year, and I can’t imagine someone surpassing Tyreek Hill anytime soon.

Whether you love or hate Tyreek Hill, to deny he is one of the fastest players in NFL history is ignorant. I talked about how Trindon Holliday had world class sprinter speed, and I put Tyreek in that same category.  When running the 100 meter dash, he recorded a personal record time of 9.98 while wind assisted.

There have been many players with similar speed, but what makes Tyreek so special is the fact that it translates with pads on. He is as quick as he is fast and lethal both with or without the ball in his hands. Tyreek went from a return specialist to focusing on Wide Receiver and it could not be more perfect to compliment the rocket arm of Patrick Mahomes. He is now one of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL.

Top 10 Fastest NFL Players Ever - Honorable Mention Michael Vick

Top 10 Fastest Players in NFL History – Honorable Mention Michael Vick

Honorable Mention – Michael Vick

When Michael Vick ran a 4.25 40 yard dash at the combine, it set in stone that he would be selected first overall in the NFL draft. His athleticism was so impressive, he was even drafted in the 30th round of the MLB draft despite not playing baseball since the 8th grade.

It was then a roller coaster career for the freak athlete that is Michael Vick. He has openly admitted that he would leave the opposing teams tape in his car, never really studying the upcoming opponent. Instead he won with pure athleticism and improvisation which made him one of the most exciting players ever to watch. He earned the title as the best running Quarterback ever.

You would rarely see him run out of bounds or slide down. He instead made it his mission to show off that he was better athlete than any defender on the field.

Later in his career he developed more of a pocket presence with the Eagles, but it was Vick in his prime with the Falcons that earns him a spot on this list. During that time he even beat his teammate DeAngelo Hall in the fastest man competition.
