Best Wide Receivers in the NFL Tier List 2022

Tier List Going Into Week 12

by Riley Baines
2022-23 Best Wide Receivers in the NFL going into week 12

These are the best Wide Receivers in the NFL going into week 12 ranked according to tiers. The tier rankings are according to overall talent, production so far, and projected production going forward. This is also not accounting for players who are currently injured and not expected this week.

TIER 6:

Parris Campbell:

2022-23 Season Stats: 440 receiving yards, 44 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 67 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

When Sam Ellingher is at the helm, you can’t trust Campbell. But Matt Ryan loves to throw to Parris Campbell.

Darnell Mooney:

2022-23 Season Stats: 493 receiving yards, 40 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 29 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 01 touchdowns

Justin Fields isn’t exactly the best gunslinger in the NFL, but Darnell Mooney is the best WR on the Bears.

Kadarius Toney:

2022-23 Season Stats: 69 receiving yards, 08 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 0 receiving yards, 0 receptions, 0 touchdowns

When healthy this man is a BEAST. His health is now in question.

Julio Jones:

2022-23 Season Stats: 178 receiving yards, 11 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

Prime Julio has an argument for the best Wide Receiver in the NFL. At 33 years old he is a shell of himself.

Brandin Cooks:

2022-23 Season Stats: 461 receiving yards, 39 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 70 receiving yards, 03 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Davis Mills ain’t it. I feel bad for Brandin Cooks and any pass catcher on this team.

Adam Thielen:

2022-23 Season Stats: 492 receiving yards, 45 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 25 receiving yards, 02 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Adam Thielen is now the robin to Justin Jefferson’s Batman. He is older and not as effective as years past.

Drake London:

2022-23 Season Stats: 409 receiving yards, 39 receptions, 04 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 02 receiving yards, 01 receptions, 01 touchdowns

I believe in Drake London as a talent especially in the long term. Though the Falcons passing attack is abysmal this season.

Joshua Palmer:

2022-23 Season Stats: 496 receiving yards, 45 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 106 receiving yards, 08 receptions, 02 touchdowns

With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams out, Joshua Palmer was on fire. This young WR has a bright future with Justin Herbert.

Treylon Burks:

2022-23 Season Stats: 264 receiving yards, 20 receptions, 0 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 111 receiving yards, 07 receptions, 0 touchdowns

He played in less than 50% of snaps this past week, but still managed to eclipse 100 receiving yards for the first time of his career coming off injury.

Allen Robinson:

2022-23 Season Stats: 339 receiving yards, 33 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 47 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 01 touchdowns

With Cooper Kupp likely out for the season, Allen Robinson will become a target hog. But he’s just not that good anymore.

TIER 5:

Donovan Peoples-Jones:

2022-23 Season Stats: 577 receiving yards, 40 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 61 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 01 touchdowns

DPJ has put up some serious numbers with Jacoby Brissett at Quarterback. I’m excited to see the damage he can do with Deshaun Watson.

Christian Watson:

2022-23 Season Stats: 243 receiving yards, 18 receptions, 05 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 48 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 02 touchdowns

Aaron Rodgers has been desperately looking for a reliable receiving threat. Now healthy, Christian Watson is looking to fill that void.

Garrett Wilson:

2022-23 Season Stats: 533 receiving yards, 44 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 12 receiving yards, 02 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Garrett Wilson has already proved his talent. Too bad he has Mr. Zero Accountability in Zach Wilson throwing him the football.

Curtis Samuel:

2022-23 Season Stats: 493 receiving yards, 48 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 10 receiving yards, 01 receptions, 0 touchdowns

He has fizzled recently, but Washington keeps winning. His speed and quickness keeps him as a consistent threat no matter the matchup.

Tyler Boyd:

2022-23 Season Stats: 579 receiving yards, 39 receptions, 04 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 42 receiving yards, 02 receptions, 0 touchdowns

With Ja’Marr Chase out, Tyler Boyd has stepped up big time. He drops a tier if Chase returns this week, but I doubt that’s the case.

Allen Lazard:

2022-23 Season Stats: 529 receiving yards, 38 receptions, 05 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 57 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Is Lazard the WR1 on the Packers, or is it Watson? I have no idea. Only time will tell.

D.J. Moore:

2022-23 Season Stats: 502 receiving yards, 42 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 24 receiving yards, 03 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Another case of a great WR on a team with a bad passing attack. Baker Mayfield is horrible and DJM suffers from that.

Jerry Jeudy:

2022-23 Season Stats: 449 receiving yards, 30 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

Jerry Jeudy had a tremendous performance in week 1, but since then has been very inconsistent.

TIER 4:

Jakobi Meyers:

2022-23 Season Stats: 509 receiving yards, 44 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 52 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Mr. Reliable. Jakobi Meyers doesn’t do anything flashy, but consistently gets the job done.

Gabriel Davis:

2022-23 Season Stats: 612 receiving yards, 29 receptions, 05 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 68 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

This man is a touchdown machine. A lot of credit goes to the system that has Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs carrying the majority of the load.

Courtland Sutton:

2022-23 Season Stats: 613 receiving yards, 46 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 80 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Courtland Sutton is clearly the better Wide Receiver on this team compared to Jerry Jeudy. Russell Wilson hasn’t done much to help either of them.

George Pickens:

2022-23 Season Stats: 453 receiving yards, 33 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 83 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 01 touchdowns

He had a costly drop this season. But the performances of George Pickens have been tremendous. He has done more with less targets than Diontae Johnson.

Diontae Johnson:

2022-23 Season Stats: 456 receiving yards, 51 receptions, 0 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 21 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 0 touchdowns

I thought with the departure of Claypool, Diontae Johnson would produce more. So far, I was wrong.

Juju Smith-Schuster:

2022-23 Season Stats: 615 receiving yards, 46 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

He suffered a concussion, but I expect him to make his return. As long as Patrick Mahomes is QB, he will continue to produce out of the slot.

Devonta Smith:

2022-23 Season Stats: 559 receiving yards, 52 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 78 receiving yards, 06 receptions, 0 touchdowns

A.J. Brown is the alpha on this team, but Devonta Smith is one of the best WR2’s in the NFL. His speed adds a much needed tool for this Jalen Hurts led offense.

Brandon Aiyuk:

2022-23 Season Stats: 587 receiving yards, 46 receptions, 06 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 20 receiving yards, 02 receptions, 02 touchdowns

He has produced more than Deebo Samuel, but I still don’t consider him the better Wide Receiver.

TIER 3:

Deebo Samuel:

2022-23 Season Stats: 468 receiving yards, 41 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 57 receiving yards, 07 receptions, 0 touchdowns

This has been a little disappointing season in Deebo Samuel standards. That being said I still believe in him as a talent.

Michael Pittman:

2022-23 Season Stats: 678 receiving yards, 67 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 75 receiving yards, 06 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Michael Pittman hasn’t had a touchdown since week 1. I blame that on the supporting cast around him more than his ability.

Keenan Allen:

2022-23 Season Stats: 171 receiving yards, 11 receptions, 0 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 94 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Welcome back Keenan Allen. If he can stay healthy, he might return in the conversation as one of the top 10 best Wide Receivers in the NFL. Justin Herbert needs him.

Chris Olave:

2022-23 Season Stats: 760 receiving yards, 51 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 102 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 01 touchdowns

Chris Olave is the overwhelming favorite for offensive rookie of the year. He has been a pleasant surprise for a struggling Saints team.

Christian Kirk:

2022-23 Season Stats: 679 receiving yards, 52 receptions, 07 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

It crossed my mind that Christian Kirk was overpaid coming into the season. I was dead wrong. Trevor Lawrence desperately needed a threat like him to develop.

Tyler Lockett:

2022-23 Season Stats: 640 receiving yards, 54 receptions, 05 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

I thought Geno Smith would be bad for his production, but once again I was wrong. Lockett is still one of the quickest receivers in the league and it shows.

Terry McLaurin:

2022-23 Season Stats: 792 receiving yards, 50 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 55 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 0 touchdowns

I believe in Drake London as a talent especially in the long term. Though the Falcons passing attack is abysmal this season.

D.K. Metcalf:

2022-23 Season Stats: 581 receiving yards, 48 receptions, 04 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

Tyler Lockett is the fast twitchy guy, but DK is the guy that is relied on for those tough, contested catches.

TIER 2:

Tee Higgins:

2022-23 Season Stats: 712 receiving yards, 50 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 148 receiving yards, 09 receptions, 0 touchdowns

Before this season, I almost slotted Tee Higgins as a top 10 WR even with Ja’Marr Chase in the top 5. He is that good as a talent and just proved it this week.

Mike Evans:

2022-23 Season Stats: 671 receiving yards, 49 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

The Bucs have been a disappointment this season and the stats of Evans reflect that. He is not the same touchdown machines as years previous.

Amari Cooper:

2022-23 Season Stats: 698 receiving yards, 50 receptions, 07 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 113 receiving yards, 08 receptions, 02 touchdowns

I still can’t believe that the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper away for peanuts. This dude is a stud and has been shredding with Jacoby Brissett as Quarterback. I can’t wait to see Deshaun Watson throwing to him.

Amon-Ra St. Brown:

2022-23 Season Stats: 594 receiving yards, 56 receptions, 03 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 76 receiving yards, 07 receptions, 0 touchdowns

The Sun God. I didn’t think he could replicate the production of last season, but once again I have been proven wrong. He is a stud and will continue to be a stud for his long career.

Jaylen Waddle:

2022-23 Season Stats: 878 receiving yards, 51 receptions, 06 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

Even with Tyreek Hill leading the league in receiving yards, Jaylen Waddle has found a way to produce top 10 best NFL WR numbers. He has a bright future.

Ceedee Lamb:

2022-23 Season Stats: 751 receiving yards, 58 receptions, 05 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 45 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

After a dud in week 1, fans were quick to call out Ceedee Lamb as a fake alpha. I had him as a top 10 WR coming into the season and he stays in that range going into week 12.

Chris Godwin:

2022-23 Season Stats: 475 receiving yards, 48 receptions, 01 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

I hate to say it because I love Mike Evans, but I now think that Chris Godwin is the best Wide Receiver on the Bucs.

TIER 1:

Davante Adams:

2022-23 Season Stats: 925 receiving yards, 64 receptions, 10 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 141 receiving yards, 07 receptions, 02 touchdowns

After a game-winning touchdown, Davante Adams is once again in the conversation as the best Wide Receiver in the NFL.

DeAndre Hopkins:

2022-23 Season Stats: 487 receiving yards, 45 receptions, 02 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 91 receiving yards, 09 receptions, 0 touchdowns

After a lengthy absence, DeAndre Hopkins has picked up right where he left off last season. It doesn’t matter who is throwing to him, he will produce.

Tyreek Hill:

2022-23 Season Stats: 1148 receiving yards, 81 receptions, 04 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: N/A

The league leading receiver. Right now I have him slotted as the best Wide Receiver in the NFL. He is on a record breaking pace. Imagine if Tua didn’t underthrow him.

Stefon Diggs:

2022-23 Season Stats: 1033 receiving yards, 76 receptions, 08 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 48 receiving yards, 04 receptions, 01 touchdowns

Stefon Diggs is one of the most refined route runners in the NFL. The Bills would not be the same without him.

Justin Jefferson:

2022-23 Season Stats: 1093 receiving yards, 72 receptions, 04 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 33 receiving yards, 03 receptions, 0 touchdowns

A week removed from the best catch of the season, Justin Jefferson and the Vikings could not get anything going offensively. I do not blame it on JJ.

A.J. Brown:

2022-23 Season Stats: 785 receiving yards, 49 receptions, 06 touchdowns
Week 11 Stats: 60 receiving yards, 05 receptions, 0 touchdowns

I wasn’t sure how AJB would produce with Jalen Hurts, but it’s clear he is one of the league’s alphas. He would be even more dominance if the Eagles defense wasn’t so good.
