#4 – Brian Mitchell
People love the highlight plays, but here is the reality… all you have to do is get the job done. That was Brian Mitchell.
A lot of guys on this list were fancy. They made fancy moves, juking players side to side, but often would get stuffed fora minimal gain. Brian Mitchell knew the importance of getting upfield. He saw a hole and he went through it gaining as many yards as he could.
These aren’t jaw dropping plays, but they sure as hell were good enough to now have him as the all-time leader in both punt and kick return yardage. Brian Mitchell is one of the most slept on players ever who is currently 2nd to only Jerry Rice in all-purpose yards.
#3 – Dante Hall
Dante Hall makes me want to make a top 10 nickname list. The Human Joystick! This man embodied that title making it never a dull moment whenever he had the football in his hand.
He was a perfect example of someone who drew inspiration from Madden and brought it to life. It was a common occurrence for Dante Hall to not only make defenders miss, but also leave defenders on the floor with their ankles broken.
His 12 kickoff and punt return touchdowns rank 3rd all-time and that would have been even more if he wasn’t so highly involved on offense. Dante Hall was the X-Factor.
