Best Quarterbacks in the NFL – #7 Dak Prescott

#7 – Dak Prescott

The only non-playoff Quarterback on this list. While it was an underwhelming season for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott has shown massive improvement in his game.

Kellen Moore as a play caller played a big role in Dak’s improvement. He trusted him to make more down the field throws and his statline reflected that. In result, Dak was one of the most efficient deep ball throwers this season. That’s extra impressive considering his receiving core led the NFL in drops.

He has one of the more talented WR duos in the NFL with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup and knows how to use them. Dak suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder late in the season which played a role in his slight regression, but I saw enough from the QB to slot him in at 7 on this list. I’m bought in on the dual threat Quarterback and expect another successful campaign in 2020.

Top 10 Quarterbacks in the NFL 2020 - #6 Aaron Rodgers

Top 10 Quarterbacks in the NFL 2020 – #6 Aaron Rodgers

#6 – Aaron Rodgers

It wasn’t long ago people considered Aaron Rodgers the most talented QB in the NFL. That led to many to jumping the gun putting him in their top 5 for best QBs ever. His stats have taken a hit as they are far less inflated now, but he has been just as efficient.

That can be credited to the fact he now has a rushing attack and defense he can rely on. For that reason, he is not nearly as pass reliant as years previous and doesn’t need to take those big risks that make highlight plays. He has Davante Adams as the clear #1 target, but what makes him so special is his ability to spread the football.

From both of his running backs to his back up tight end, Rodgers makes the right throws instead of forcing the football to his most reliable target. For that reason he only threw 2 interceptions last season and 4 this season. He does not turnover the ball, and winning the turnover battle led the Packers to a 13-3 finish. Aaron Rodgers still has what it takes and if the Packers become more pass heavy, expect him to be in the running for MVP.

Best Quarterbacks in the NFL - #5 Deshaun Watson

Best Quarterbacks in the NFL – #5 Deshaun Watson

#5 – Deshaun Watson

In terms of talent, i’m all in on Deshaun Watson. He may very well be the best dual threat QB in the league, but it gets over-shadowed by the fact the Texans have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. They added Tunsil which helped a little, but every single game you find Deshaun Watson running for his life.

Even with that pressure, he made some immaculate plays. Case and point, the playoff game vs. the Buffalo Bills. A pass rusher went completely unblocked and somehow Watson bounced off him and another would be tackler to extend the play for the first down and ultimately win the game. He rises to the occasion and no moment is too big for this young superstar.

Here is the negative. He cannot keep turning over the ball at this pace. I get he has an awful oline, but 12 interceptions and 10 fumbles is not acceptable. I think we will see Deshaun Watson win the MVP award, and when he does it will be because he brings down the turnovers. It’s going to be interesting to see what he does next season without his main target in DeAndre Hopkins.
