Best Quarterbacks in the NFL – #10 Tom Brady

#10 – Tom Brady

I know i’m going to catch some flak for what i’m about to say, but here it goes. If Tom Brady was the starting Quarterback for the 49ers in the Super Bowl they would have won. The Patriots offense struggles had way more to do with the supporting cast than Tom Brady’s performance.

Can you name one of the Patriots tight ends? Don’t feel ashamed if you can’t. Besides Edelman, he had nothing to work with. The 2nd leading WR was Colts cast away Phillip Dorsett with 397 yards and after that it was undrafted Jakobi Meyers with 359.

Even their running game was horrendous as both James White and Sony Michel ran for less than 4 yards a carry. Father time is undefeated and it’s only a matter of time before 42 Tom Brady can’t keep up, but it wasn’t the season. We still saw him make big time throws to players he really didn’t have any chemistry with.

He is a methodical player who needs that chemistry and cohesiveness to be elite. I can’t wait to see him lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because it is the best receiving core he has had around him throughout his entire career. If Jameis Winston can throw for over 5000 yards with this supporting cast, the sky is the limit for Tom Brady.

#9 – Carson Wentz

It was a rocky start for Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles this season. I mentioned how bad the supporting cast was for Brady, and Wentz should get the same nod. Injuries plagued this team and he found himself throwing to no names for most the season. Besides his two tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, he couldn’t find consistency with any other receiving option.

That being said, what an impressive 2nd half of the season for Carson Wentz to bring the birds back to the playoffs. Nobody seems to be talking about the fact that he became the first Philadelphia Eagle quarterback ever to throw for over 4000 yards, but it’s true. That stat is even more impressive considering the makeshift group of WRs.

We finally were able to see a full season from the young star, and he did not disappoint. Wentz was on fire and if he can keep the pace he had in the 2nd half of the season, he will rise to the elite category. There were a lot of drops that hurt his overall statline, and I think a healthy DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery would have made a huge difference.

Best Quarterbacks in the NFL - #8 Kirk Cousins

#8 – Kirk Cousins

It’s laughable to see all of these “sports analysts” jump the gun on Kirk Cousins after a couple of bad games. The Vikings passing game struggled early in the season and everyone was quick to label him as a failure. That comes along with the title of highest paid QB ever at the time, but Kirk proved the haters wrong.

People expected more and they got it. The perception quickly changed as Kirk Cousins quietly became one of the most efficient passers in the NFL. He was without Thielen for a good portion of the season, yet Kirk still looked as good as we have ever seen him.

We knew he could sling the football at a high velocity, but this season he proved he could do so while also protecting the football. He did not make costly mistakes and turnover the football and in result the Vikings offense was flourishing. While he is no longer the highest paid QB, he still has the drive to be the best Quarterback in the NFL. I think everyone should view him as the Vikings franchise QB.
