Top 10 Fastest Players in the NFL 2020 – #3 Mecole Hardman

#3 – Mecole Hardman

I’m not saying Mecole Hardman is a Tyreek Hill clone, but his first season was very similar. Tyreek Hill was never really given a chance to be a full-time starter in his first season, but made his mark in the return game.

Mecole Hardman found moderate success as a Wide Receiver managing to record over 538 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, but was also nominated as a pro-bowl returner. He was not at the elite level of Hill in his first season, but his 26.1 yards per kickoff return was extremely impressive.

Andy Reid has armed Patrick Mahomes with an arsenal of sprinters at his disposal and it has worked wonders. It will be interesting to see if Mecole Hardman can develop his game to more than just a deep threat in his second season.

#2 – John Ross

We were finally able to see the potential of John Ross early this season, but it came to an abrupt halt due to injury. John Ross holds the record for the fastest 40 yard dash in NFL history at the combine and you can see that speed translate on the field.

In his first 2 games this season he posted 270 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns showing off his speed both with and without the ball in his hands. He still has a lot of work to do expanding his skill set as a Wide Receiver, but we can see that record breaking speed in action.

It’s going to be interesting season 2020 season with the addition of Joe Burrows at Quarterback and return of A.J. Green. If he wants to get paid, he needs to stay healthy and consistent.

#1 – Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill had an injury plagued season, but his speed came to play when it mattered. There is no doubt in my mind that Tyreek Hill is the fastest player in the NFL. Not only do I think he has the fastest straight line speed, but I also think he might be the quickest player as well. He wasn’t able to compete in the combine, but I think he would have crushed the metrics.

He led the NFL in top speed in his first two seasons, but not these past 2 seasons. That has something to do with him no longer returning the ball, but I think something else plays a bigger role. Tyreek Hill is so fast that you usually see him slowing down as he approaches the endzone. You will see him waving to the crowd or slowing down to high five his teammate. Hill is on his own level in terms of speed with or without the football in his hands.

The best example of this was when Damien Williams broke out a long run last season. You saw Hill sprinting past every defender and Williams with ease to celebrate with him in the endzone. He levitates.
