Top 10 Best Quarterbacks in the NFL 2020-21
There is no position more important than the Quarterback. They touch the football every single offensive snap and the best NFL Quarterbacks can make a good team elite. This list is a prediction for the upcoming season, not necessarily who I think are the 10 best Quarterbacks. These are who I think will be the best Quarterbacks in the NFL for the 2020-21 season.
#10 – Kyler Murray
It’s extremely difficult for a rookie Quarterback already and Kyler Murray had the luxury of stepping behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. Murray was sacked 48 times last season and if it weren’t for his escape-ability, that number would be a lot higher.
Even considering, we saw some flashes of greatness in his rookie season. They only won 5 games, but Murray had some big moments for a team that was doing him no favors on defense.
Going into next season he receives a little help on the oline, but most importantly DeAndre Hopkins joins the receiving corp. Kliff Kingsbury loves this high octane air raid offense and Kyler Murray is going to be slinging it to one of the best wr trios in the NFL. There are a lot less moving parts this time around and I expect Murray to take a leap forward in terms of ability in his 2nd season.
#9 – Dak Prescott
Dak does not get nearly enough credit. The Cowboys are the most hated team in the NFL and I think that clouds a lot of peoples judgement.
I don’t think anyone can deny he is a top 15 Quarterback, but what puts him over the top is the absolutely stacked offensive unit. He operates behind a top 5 offensive line with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup & Cee Dee making a case for the best WR trio in the entire NFL.
Dak is playing on his contract year and I expect him to earn his deal.
The Cowboys defense got worse this offense losing Byron Jones, so there will be even more airing it out for this offense. It could be a career year for Dak Prescott.
#8 – Matt Ryan
The Falcons went 7-9 for the 2nd straight season and I don’t think they’re trending upwards. As I mentioned in my NFL power rankings, it’s hard for me to see them as a 10 win team because they have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
It isn’t necessarily bad for the production of a Quarterback to be playing from behind. Matt Ryan is going to be given ample opportunity to throw the Falcons out of a hole and Matt Ryan has proved time and time again that he can make up for a poor defense.
He may have lost a main weapon in Austin Hooper, but they also traded for Hayden Hurst who is a big sleeper going into next season. The real difference though is Julio Jones. As long as Matt Ryan has Julio Jones at Wide Receiver, he will continue to succeed. Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley are one of the best WR duos in the NFL and Matt Ryan is one of the most underrated passers ever.
