NFL Power Rankings 2020

by Riley Baines
NFL Power Rankings (After the NFL Draft)

#23 – Cincinnati Bengals

If A.J. Green is completely healthy and anything like his older self, the Bengals will completely transform offensively. Joe Burrow is fresh off the best college season ever and has one of the best receiving corps in the league. The offensive line is the one thing that has me worried. A rookie Quarterback with no pass protection holds a lot of risk.

#24 – Los Angeles Rams

The salary cap has been doing the Rams no favors. Had the lowest available room of any team and their off-season showed that. They didn’t make their offensive line any better and lost Brandin Cooks. Sean Mcvay may be a genius, but I don’t think he can coach his way out of this one.

#25 – New York Jets

I loved the Denzel Mims pick for the Jets. He is raw, but an athletic freak and more than makes up for the loss of Robby Anderson. That being said, I don’t believe in Adam Gase. I think they did a good job of getting assets this off-season, but I think they are still a season or two away from competing for a playoff spot.

#26 – Chicago Bears

The Bears leave me scratching my head. They took on Jimmy Graham’s awful contract then used a high pick on a Tight End. Nick Foles is the big question mark for this team. Trubisky is clearly not a good thrower, but will Foles be any better? This Bears offensive line still looks shaky no matter who is at the helm.

#27 – Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers used their 6th overall pick on Herbert, but this coaching staff has openly talked up Tyrod Taylor. They call him the starting Quarterback for all of 2020 and I believe them. He was bad with the Browns, but apparently has gotten much better. I was a fan of their acquisitions, but the play of Taylor will be the difference.

#28 – Detroit Lions

I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Stafford retires early. It’s the Lions way. I still believe in him as a thrower, but I don’t think the Lions have enough of a supporting cast to keep him upright and winning. Their skilled positions are stacked, but their offensive line will be the difference.

#29 – Carolina Panthers

Will Christian McCaffrey break the record for most receptions in a season by a running back for the 3rd straight season? Probably. This team did not do enough to take strides forward and will be playing from behind most of the season. They had a great draft, but I think the loss of Luke Kuechly will hurt bad.

#30 – Miami Dolphins

I love the talent of Tua, but I can’t see him starting in 2020 especially considering the shortened off-season. They acquired many assets, but overpaid for a couple of players. Like the Jets, I think they are at least a season or two away from competing for a playoff spot.

#31 – Washington Redskins

The Redskins did great this off-season. I loved the Chase Young pick and the addition of Ronald Darby. They also have a lot of younh talent on offense, minus arguably the 2 more important spots. The offensive line is not good, and I don’t believe in Dwayne Haskins leading this team.

#32 – Jacksonville Jaguars

If any team should tank for Trevor Lawrence, it’s the Jaguars. This is the new team where star players do not want to play for. They desperately need a culture change. I feel sorry for Jaguars fans.
