NFC East Draft Grades 2020
Washington Redskins Draft Grade 2020
Chase Young was a match made in heaven. Not only was he raised in Washington, but also the best player in the entire draft. It was a perfect start for the Redskins who struggled mightily on defense last season.
They followed up with Antonio Gibson who is raw, but very teachable. He has top tier speed and has the ability to play WR on top of RB. He has an uncanny ability to make people miss in the open field and you will likely see him used in a multitude of ways on this offense.
Antonio Gandy-Golden is the Wide Receiver who should be a big help to Haskins. He has an extremely wide catch target and while he is not one of the fastest NFL players, he is an efficient route runner with reliable hands.
Philadelphia Eagles Draft Grade 2020
Starting off with Jalen Reagor at the 21st pick was a bit of a reach, but I get the fit. Carson Wentz depth of target has plummeted these past couple of seasons, and he needs someone who can win down field. I think they could have traded down and drafted an equal Wide Receiver, but i’m not going to nitpick.
Jalen Hurts was a very interesting pick. On one hand, it’s almost like they’re projecting a Wentz injury. They already payed Wentz, so it’s a little head scratching investing this high of a draft pick on a QB with Hurts’ skill set other than an insurance policy. On the other hand, this could be a Taysom Hill-esque fit. If they find unique ways to incorporate him in the offense, I completely get it, but not everybody is Sean Payton.
The Eagles followed up with 3 very solid picks with K’von Wallace being my favorite. He has a ton of experience covering the slot Wide Receiver and you should see him in a lot of sub packages.
New York Giants Draft Grade 2020
Many argued that Andrew Thomas, Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills were all interchangeable prospects, but I can’t fault the Giants at all for trading down. Andrew Thomas was extremely efficient against the top SEC competition. He should step in immediately as an impact player who can protect Daniel Jones and open some holes for Saquon. They desperately needed to improve their offensive line.
Xavier McKinney has an underwhelming athletic, but you can’t go wrong grabbing a Nick Saben coached defensive player. He was given a diverse role on that Alabama defense playing a multitude of different roles giving him the title as the most versatile safety in the draft.
Matt Peart was another solid pick strengthening their struggling offensive line. He is in the 99th percentile for arm length and I could see him soon taking over the starting role over Nate Solder who has been a shell of himself.
Darnay Holmes and Shane Lemieux were also solid picks, but the first 3 were the standouts.
Dallas Cowboys Draft Grade 2020
Drafting on a 250 million dollar yacht must give you super powers because Jerry Jones got what I think was the best value of the draft. I truly believe CeeDee Lamb was the best Wide Receiver of the draft and he pairs with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup to make one of the most dangerous trios in the NFL.
Diggs and Robinson then soon made up for their loss of Byron Jones in the secondary, but it was the pick of Neville Gallimore that was my favorite.
Am I bias because he was a highschool teammate of mine? Possibly. I’ll let the scouts do the talking though as many projected the physical freak to be drafted in the 2nd round.
Later on in the draft Tyler Biadasz looks to solidify the offensive line that the Cowboys are so good at breading considering the loss of Travis Frederick.
Another great value pick was DE Bradlee Anae in the 5th round.
