#4 – LeBron James
Judging by the comments about this list so far, Lebron James may very well be the most underrated scorer in nba history. I’m shocked to see how many people are discounting LeBron’s greatness.
LeBron is a pass-first player by nature, but has averaged over 25 points per game over 16 seasons. He is currently sitting 3rd all-time in points and 4th in PPG (27.1), but there is no doubt in my mind that LeBron James will retire as the all-time leader in points. Over the years, he has developed his offensive game from a pure athletic force to a refined finesse and touch.
After completely dominating the eastern conference and reaching the NBA finals 8 years in a row, Lebron has put his scoring on full display in big games, including elimination games and numerous game 7s. Haters gonna hate, but that won’t stop the King from taking the crown and continue having elite efficiency scoring with his career field goal percentage of 50.4%.
#3 – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was an instant star in the nba after being selected 1st overall by the Bucks. As a rookie, he helped a 27-55 team jump up the second place in the East, averaging 28.8ppg. In addition to being named league mvp, Kareem won his first scoring title in only his 2nd season, after finishing 2nd in the league in scoring as a rookie.
His overall success in the nba would continue for nearly 2 decades, earning him the record as the league’s top scorer to this day. The majority of those points can be directly attributed to his most effective offensive weapon, the sky-hook shot. If you ever take a sky hook shot you are obligated to simultaneously yell out, “KAREEM!”
Combining an unstoppable shot with his incredible length and physical fitness, Kareem was able to average 24.6 PPG. This man played until 42 years old making that accolade even more impressive.
