#7 – Karl Marlone

Let’s throw a wrench in this list. Karl Malone currently sits 2nd all-time in points, and is one of the all-time great Power Forwards, but not in the top 5 for best scorers ever.

Let’s start with the positive. Stockton and Malone formed the most consistent guard-forward duo in NBA history, nearly unstoppable in their pick and roll offense. Karl Malone wasn’t afraid to get physical and played in an era where that was allowed. The Mailman took advantage of that and muscled his way to a 25 point per game average over 19 seasons with the ability to hit the mid-range shot.

The reason I don’t have him higher is because he benefited from the tremendous passing ability of John Stockton (the all-time assist leader). Stockton force fed him the ball putting him in great positions. It’s also worth mentioning that Malone never found playoff success failing to win a single NBA title in 19 playoff appearances.

#6 – Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has evolved his offensive game to become one of the most lethal scorers in NBA history. With his effortless jump shot and lateral quickness, KD is virtually unstoppable from the small forward position.

Standing at 6’10, with an even longer wingspan, the Slim Reaper is capable of getting his shot off over any defender. He’s an extremely efficient perimeter scorer who stands 6th all-time in PPG (27.0) while shooting almost 50% from the floor (49.3).

If he remains healthy, I have no doubt in my mind that he’ll finish top 3 scorers in nba history. My bet is on him continuing to rise up on the all-time scoring list which in turn will rise him on this list.

#5 – Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain was an imposing figure who changed the game of basketball forever. He dominated the entire league seemingly impossible to stop despite the double/triple-teams and constant fouling tactics imposed on him by opposing teams.

His impact almost seems like a fairy tail it was so massive. He holds numerous scoring records including most points in a single game (100), most games with 50+ points (118), highest rookie scoring average (37.6ppg), in addition to averaging a career-high 50.4ppg in 1962. His stats are outright mind-boggling, as the only knock critics will have against him is the lackluster era in which he participated in. T

he Stilt stood at 7’1, weighing in at +280lbs, leading me to believe that he could’ve been physically dominant in any basketball era. Regardless of opinion, Wilt’s legacy will live on forever as his name is immortalized in the nba record books.
