Best Scorers Ever
The first stat people look to is points per game. People love scoring. Whether it’s with their dribbling, dunking, or shooting and ability, this list honors the best NBA scorers of all-time. To no surprise, the best of the best could do it all. These are the NBA’s best scorers ever.
#10 – Jerry West
Ahhhh fan voting, you have failed me again. Take a moment and look at the NBA logo. You’re looking at Jerry West. To those who downvoted Jerry West, shame on you.
The Lakers legend finished his career averaging 27.03 points per game, which currently ranks 5th in NBA history. He was known for being an outstanding jump shooter, back when the league hadn’t introduced the 3-point line. He would have destroyed in the 3-point contest!
In 14 seasons, he scored over 25000 points earning him the nickname “Mr. Outside”. One can only imagine the numbers he would have been able to produce post 3-point line. Nevertheless, Jerry West without a doubt has earned his spot on this list.
#9 – Allen Iverson
Of the top 50 all-time leading scorers in nba history, here’s the list of players 6’0” or shorter: Allen Iverson. What Iverson lacked in size, he more than made up with in quickness and pure ability.
The Answer had a knack for scoring while embarrassing defenders on his way to the basket. Iverson was in a class of his own when it came to dribbling ability paired with elite quickness.
He led the league in scoring 4 times (averaging > 30 ppg), and is ranked 7th all-time in points per game (26.66). The man produced highlights night after night. Not even practice could stop this man.
#8 – Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk Nowitzki marveled basketball fans from around the world playing on the Dallas Mavericks for over two decades. He was the model of consistency as he averaged 20.7 points per game over 21 seasons in the nba.
His trademark one legged fadeaway allowed the 7-foot German forward to produce over 31k points, landing him 6th all-time in league history. What made him extra special was his ability to show up in the biggest moments. The Mavericks had no right taking down the big 3 on route to their NBA Championship. Dirk was lights out all series.
Dirk’s longevity and dependability land him a spot on the greatest scorers list, and be the driving force that will inevitably induct him into the hall of fame.
