#5 – Tyreek Hill
Don’t let last seasons stats fool you. Tyreek Hill only played 11 full games throughout the season and dominated throughout the playoffs. Even an injured Tyreek Hill puts up numbers of an elite wide receiver.
You could tell that this Chiefs offense was a shell of themselves without Tyreek. While they are a team filled with speedsters, Hill is the most refined Wide Receiver on the team. Whether you bomb it to him or throw it to him on a screen pass, Tyreek Hill has the chance to take any pass for a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill are a dream combo who both got injured last season. When healthy, they are the best in the NFL as Mahomes has the biggest arm in the NFL and Tyreek Hill is the fastest player in the NFL. I expect this Chiefs team to be even better than last season and Tyreek Hill will once again rise into the conversation as the best wide receiver in the NFL.
#4 – Deandre Hopkins
In 2018, I ranked DeAndre Hopkins as the best Wide Receiver in the NFL. Last season there was some regression, but what is considered a down year for Hopkins’ standards was still a dominant performance. It takes a special Wide Receiver to make a 1000+ yard season seem underwhelming.
His 2018 season was historic due to the fact DeAndre Hopkins did not drop a single ball. I can’t say the same last season, but I did see the route running, hands and contested catch ability of Hopkins which makes him so special.
Going into the 2020-21 season, I would not be shocked to see Hopkins produce undisputed #1 Wide Receiver numbers once again. Kliff Kingsbury runs the air raid offense which lives or dies through throwing the football. They are one of the most reliant teams on the passing attack which means more targets for Hopkins.
#3 – Davante Adams
In only 12 games played, Davante Adams was only 3 yards short of his second straight 1000+ receiving season. When we are talking about the elite route runners of the NFL, you have to include Adams. His body of work speaks for itself as he continues to show why Aaron Rodgers trusts him so much.
A lot of Wide Receivers had their stock go down this off-season as their teams went out and paid for a top Wide Receiver. That in turn leads to less of a target share. I can’t say the same for the Packers. They signed Devin Funchess, but is he really someone you see taking away from Adams? It’s clear that Davante Adams will continue to be force fed by Rodgers this upcoming season, and with a full bill of health that will lead to a massive statline for Adams.
