This is a prediction for who I think will be the best wide receivers in the NFL going into the 2020-21. While I consider the overall talent of the wide receiver, my ranking is mainly based on my projection for their receiving stats next season. Usually it’s the best NFL wide receivers that end up having the best stats. That being said, when you’re on a team that is playing from behind most of the season, their stats can become inflated.
#10 – Allen Robinson
It was only 4 seasons ago Allen Robinson dropped 1400 yards and 14 touchdowns with Blake freaking Bortles at Quarterback. Robinson is an elite talent who has had bad QB play in Trubisky effect his overall production. Even considering the weak Bears passing attack Robinson recorded over 1100 years this season.
The Bears acquired Nick Foles this off-season to take over the starting job. Say what you want about Foles, he is a far better passer than Trubisky. This passing attack will be far better off.
That to me will be the shining light for Allen Robinson. Right now he is a top talent on a bad offense, and while I have the Bears on the outside looking in for the playoffs, this passing attack has a far higher ceiling with Foles at QB.
#9 – Odell Beckham
#8 – Mike Evans
Mike Evans has quietly made history this past season. 2019 marked his 6th straight 1000+ yard season since entering the NFL – now an NFL record shared with Randy Moss.
Evans continues to establish himself as one of the best deep threats in the NFL with his speed, size and ability to get up and get the football. His 17.3 yards per reception tell the story as Evans was continuously targeted deep down the field finishing the season 4th in deep targets.
Going into the 2020-21 season, I can’t see Tom Brady airing it out nearly as much as Winston. I think the offense as a whole will be much more efficient, but for Mike Evans he will be targeted much more in the short to intermediate zone.
