Best Quarterbacks in the NFL Today – Going into Week 14
These are the top 10 best Quarterbacks in the NFL today based on overall talent, production so far this season, and projected production going forward.
10. Dak Prescott
2022-23 Passing Stats: 1563 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 67.9 completion percentage, 96.1 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 71 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 1 fumble
Since Dak Prescott has returned from injury to the Cowboys, they have been scoring at a ridiculous pace. Sure, the rushing attack is very important, but it’s the passing threat of Dak Prescott that separates this offense and makes them hyper-efficient.
9. Tom Brady
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3332 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 66.2 completion percentage, 91.6 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: -7 rushing yards, 0 rushing touchdowns, 3 fumbles
Captain Clutch. People have been screaming at me to take Tom Brady off this top 10 list, but I can’t do it. We’ve all seen this tale before. You can’t write off Tom Brady. The Bucs have struggled, but I can’t put that on TB12.
8. Kirk Cousins
2022-23 Passing Stats: 2933 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions, 64.6 completion percentage, 88.1 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 58 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 5 fumbles
This is Kirk Cousins not in primetime games I’m talking about. Justin Jefferson has been arguably the best Wide Receiver in the NFL today and he wouldn’t have that luxury without iced out Kirk Cousins at the helm.
7. Geno Smith
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3169 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 72.7 completion percentage, 108.7 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 243 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 6 fumbles
I wrote off Geno Smith and he didn’t write back. This has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NFL. I give most of the credit of the Seahawks competing to the hyper-efficient Geno Smith.
6. Justin Herbert
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3339 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 66.7 completion percentage, 92.3 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 135 rushing yards, 0 rushing touchdowns, 5 fumbles
The Chargers have disappointed this season, but that’s not on Justin Herbert. He had his top two Wide Receivers go down with injury and has the not so luxury of having one of the worst head coaches in the NFL in Brandon Staley.
5. Tua Tagovailoa
2022-23 Passing Stats: 2859 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 68.1 completion percentage, 112.0 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 35 rushing yards, 0 rushing touchdowns, 3 fumbles
This is another pleasant surprise going into this season. Tua is fresh off his worst game of the season, but I don’t judge a player off one game. He is armed with two of the fastest players in the NFL today at Wide Receiver and continues to throw them open along with a few underthrows.
4. Joe Burrow
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3446 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 69.1 completion percentage, 103.7 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 224 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, 4 fumbles
It was a rough start for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Since then, he has been scoring at a ridiculous pace. Fresh off a win against the Chiefs, and with a healthy Ja’Marr Chase, expect more high scoring games from this rising superstar.
3. Josh Allen
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3406 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 64.1 completion percentage, 96.0 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 581 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, 10 fumbles
I had Josh Allen number one on this list a few times this season. Since then, he has been inconsistent. Yes, I know he’s been injured, but he needs to get back on path to be considered the best Quarterback in the NFL.
2. Jalen Hurts
2022-23 Passing Stats: 2940 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 68.1 completion percentage, 108.3 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 609 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns, 9 fumbles
Jalen Hurts had no excuse coming into this season. A.J. Brown & Devonta Smith are one of the best Wide Receiver duos in the NFL and Jalen Hurts has been nothing short of fantastic this season throwing the ball this season. The rushing stats are just icing on the already delicious cake.
1. Patrick Mahomes
2022-23 Passing Stats: 3808 passing yards, 30 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 65.7 completion percentage, 104.9 passer rating
2022-23 Rushing Stats: 283 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 4 fumbles
Patrick Mahomes is coming off one of his most painful losses this season, but I still consider him the best Quarterback in the NFL. There is no Quarterback today more talented and he is making the most out of a lackluster receiving core outside of the best NFL Tight End in Travis Kelce.
