NBA Top 10 Best 3-Point Shooters Ever – #7 Steve Kerr

#7 – Steve Kerr

Now coaching the best 3-point shooter in the NBA, Steve Kerr was once an elite 3-point shooter himself. His game winning shot in game 6 of the NBA finals still gives me shivers and cements his spot as one of the clutchest shooters ever.

Steve Kerr had the luxury of spending the majority of his career playing with the outstanding Chicago Bulls squad that never seemed to lose. He fully accepted his role behind the two hall of famers in Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

It seems to be overlooked that Steve Kerr is currently the record holder for best 3-point percentage ever. While he was not a volume shooter like the others on this list higher in 3-pointers made, he undoubtedly deserves a spot on this top 10.

Top 10 3-Point Shooters in NBA History - #6 Larry Bird

Top 10 3-Point Shooters in NBA History – #6 Larry Bird

#6 – Larry Bird

Look at his stats with a grain of salt. It was in his rookie year when they added the 3-point line and he quickly established himself as the best shooter and best 3-point shooter in the NBA.

If he were in the NBA today all of his shooting numbers would sky rocket up. He was a pioneer as a shooter and you see players still trying to replicate his form today.

Larry Bird is only 1 of 2 players to win three 3-point contests over their career and he won them in perfect Larry Legend form. Much like his career, he was able to hit clutch shots when it was looking like the win was slipping away.

Top 10 3-Point Shooters in NBA History - Honorable Mention Dirk Nowitzki

NBA Top 10 Best 3-Point Shooters Ever – Honorable Mention Dirk Nowitzki

Honorable Mention – Dirk Nowitzki

I already credited his long-time teammate Jason Terry, but Dirk Nowitzki was just as impressive. Dirk has the higher 3-point percentage by a very short margin, but was not the same kind of volume shorter from deep.

His stats even more impressive is the fact that he was a big man who loved creating his own shots. Unlike the volume shooters who were reliant on their catch and shoot style, Dirk could do it all.
