Top 10 3-Point Shooters in NBA History
The NBA has evolved and teams rely on the 3-point shot more than ever. It was only in 1979 when the NBA added the 3-point line and since that time there have been some legendary shooters who have developed. This list is ranked based on talent and overall production over their career. These are the top 10 3-point shooters in NBA history.
#10 – Klay Thompson
You hate to see a player to the caliber of Klay Thompson go down to injury. It will be hard to see him continue to be a dominant defender, but coming back from injury I still see him as one of the best shooters in the NBA.
Klay Thompson has as close to perfect form for a jumpshot as it gets. He has a 42% career 3 point percentage and has yet to shoot under 40% from deep yet in his 8 year career.
A lot of players on this list were limited to their catch and shoot ability, but that is why Klay Thompson is so special. He excels in the catch and shoot category, but is also extremely effective at creating his own shot. This is especially important considering his long frame.
#9 – Jason Terry
Jason Terry is a nice switch up from Klay Thompson. His 3 point percentage is not in the elite category like Klay, but he was a volume shooter currently 7th all-time in 3 pointers made.
He lasted an impressive 19 seasons in the NBA and over that time hit many clutch shots from deep. He was always considered one of the leaders on his team and rightfully won his first and only NBA Championship in 2011 along side of Dirk Nowitzki.
#8 – Peja Stojaković
No disrespect to Dirk Nowitzki, but Peja Stojakovic is the greatest European shooter to ever play in the NBA. His 40% 3-point percentage is extremely impressive considering he is in the top 20 for 3 pointers made.
He won two 3-point contests and was extremely close to becoming the third player in NBA history to win three 3-point contests with his two 2nd place finishes.
