NHL Top 10 Fastest Slap Shots Ever – #2 Shea Weber

#2 – Shea Weber

This is the only player who has given the #1 player on this list a run for his money in the hardest shot competition. Shea Weber was 0.4 seconds away from becoming the all-time leader.

I talked about Al MacInnis’ shot going through the boards, but Weber’s shot was so hard it went through the net at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Whether it’s with the Predators or with the Canadiens, Weber will continue to rack up the points from the point as one of the leagues best defenders.

NHL Top 10 Fastest Slap Shots Ever - #1 Zdeno Chara

NHL Top 10 Fastest Slap Shots Ever – #1 Zdeno Chara

#1 – Zdeno Chara

You can judge this book by it’s cover. Zdeno Chara is a massive human being (tallest NHL player ever) who has a massive slap shot to follow. That’s how you last 22 years in today’s NHL.

He currently holds the all-time record for fastest slap shot with his time of 108.8 which he set in 2012. It’s hard to believe anyone will break this record, but i’m sure the time will come.

It will take a once in a decade type player like Chara to this record as the NHL is moving towards a faster skaters approach versus a bigger skaters approach. That being said Chara moved much faster than his frame would suggest.

Today he doesn’t possess the goal scoring ability as his prime self, but what can you expect? When he was in his prime he was one of the best defenders ever.
