#7 – Brett Hull
It ran in the family. The Hull’s dropped pro hockey players with blistering slap shots at a higher rate than anyone. He is the son of Bobby Hull and he did as good of a job as you can as filling in the shoes of his hall of fame father.
He is another one of the legendary goal scorers finishing his career with over 500 goals.
#6 – Alex Ovechkin
How can you not love Alex Ovechkin? This guy is an animal and when we are talking about all around players who can hit, shoot and dangle, he is in the conversation for best ever.
His hardest slap shot time of 101.3 MPH is outside of the top 10, but he was a sniper. You can’t put a MPH value on his ability to blast a one-timer in game. The skills competition is one thing and what you actually see in game is one, and Alex Ovechkin did more than pass the eye test.
#5 – Bobby Hull
There was a Popular Mechanics article that clocked the slap shot of Bobby Hull at 118.3 MPH. How is he not higher on this list? It’s hard to compare their time with the official NHL times. That being said, top 5 for best ever is no joke and Bobby Hull is an NHL legend.
Much like what I said with Ovechkin, you just had to see him on the ice to see how fast his slap shot was. That’s how he earned his reputation and that’s how he finished his career with 610 goals.
It’s also worth mentioning he is one of the fastest skaters ever.
