New Orleans Saints Record Prediction 2020
Here is some free advice. Go to Vegas and put all your money down on the referees ultimately screwing over the Saints in the playoffs. Wait.. the odds are only 2 to 1? Makes sense. At this point we have come to expect the Saints making the playoffs as one of the elite teams and being eliminated after a questionable call.
You can’t bet against Sean Payton and Drew Brees. They are proven winners and have led the most efficient offense over the past couple of seasons. The turnover battle usually tells the tale and last season the Saints had the least amount of giveaways by 5.
If Drew Brees gets injured, i’ll take Sean Payton and whoever no matter what. Whether it’s Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill, Sean Payton proved last season with Teddy Bridgewater that he will win with whomever at the helm.
Their biggest off-season acquisitions were Emmanuel Sanders and Cesar Ruiz. I think both will make an impact in their first seasons. Sanders will take a lot of the load off Michael Thomas’ back.
The Saints last season were on the cusp of being a top 10 defense in the NFL. Their secondary was inconsistent which led them to being on the outside looking in, but their run defense keeps them in the conversation.
If Marshon Lattimore can return as a one of the top 5 cornerbacks, this defense can become elite. That being said, he has the not so luxury of being in the strongest Wide Receiver division in the NFL.
We know no matter what that this offense will be top 5 and if the defense can be elite this is a Super Bowl team.
